Founder & CEO

Balaji Parimi is Founder and CEO of CloudKnox Security, the only Cloud Security Platform built from the ground up to support the management of identity privileges across multi-cloud environments using an Activity-based Authorization model. In October 2018, Balaji secured $10.8 million in funding for CloudKnox led by Jay Leek, Managing Director at ClearSky Security and former Blackstone CISO, which coincided with the launch of the CloudKnox Cloud Security Platform. Since then, Balaji has helped CloudKnox become a Top Ten Finalist in the RSA Innovation Sandbox Contest and presented at RSA on behalf of the company. Prior to this, Balaji was Vice President of Engineering and Operations at CloudPhysics, Staff Engineer at VMware, Architect and Technical Lead at 8X8, and Senior Software Engineer at Quality Call Solutions.



Raj Mallempati recently joined CloudKnox Security as Chief Operating Officer, where he is responsible for CloudKnox’s overall business and go-to-market strategies. Prior to joining CloudKnox, Raj was most recently the SVP of Marketing at Malwarebytes. Raj has also held positions as the VP of Global Marketing at MobileIron, VP of Product Marketing at Riverbed Technology, and was the Director of Marketing and Business Strategy at VMware. He holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, MS, Computer Science from the University of Texas, and a B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.


VP of Engineering

As VP of Engineering, Ravi is responsible for CloudKnox's Product Development, Core Technology, Security, and Infrastructure. Ravi has been instrumental in developing CloudKnox's vision since it's inception while building and scaling the infrastructure to support it. Ravi brings more than two decades of management and software development experience across different companies, platforms, and technologies. Most recently, Ravi was the VP of Engineering and a member of the founding team at CloudPhysics Inc., where he led the company's engineering team. Ravi holds an MS in Computer Science from Bradley University.


VP of Sales

John Donnelly recently joined CloudKnox Security as VP of Sales, where he is responsible for CloudKnox’s global go-to-market strategy. Before joining CloudKnox, John served as partner at Wing, a purpose-built venture capital firm focused on early-stage long term investments. Prior to joining Wing, John was Senior Vice President of Sales at MobileIron, where he led the company’s global revenue growth and sales operations. Prior to MobileIron, he was Vice President of Sales at Symantec, which he joined when it acquired Vontu in 2007. At Vontu, John led the worldwide sales operation, and established the company as the top provider of enterprise data loss protection solutions.

Over the course of his career, John has also grown several startup companies from early stage to exit via IPO or acquisition. They include Talking Blocks, Kana Communications, Connectify, and NetGravity. He began his career in sales at Wang Laboratories, and then Parametric Technology. John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Communications from Boston College.

Managing Director
Sorenson Ventures

Ken Elefant joined Sorenson Capital in 2017 and leads the firm’s early-stage technology practice. Prior to Sorenson Ventures, Ken spent more than 20 years in Silicon Valley at leading venture capital firms including Battery Ventures, Lightspeed and Intel Capital. Ken enjoys working closely with entrepreneurs to help them attack new market opportunities and gain access to key initial customers and partners. His efforts have led to recognition as one of the most connected names in tech.

At Sorenson Ventures, Ken has partnered with entrepreneurs in market-leading companies such as CyCognito (attack surface security), Openpath (access control), Octarine (cloud security), CloudKnox (authorization management), NS8 (anti-fraud), Bridgecrew (codified cloud security), Kenna (risk management), Paperspace (machine learning) and SupportLogic (customer support platform).

Before joining Sorenson, Ken was Managing Director at Intel Capital and VP at Intel Corporation. Leading the software and security groups at Intel Capital, Ken invested in several companies including AtHoc (Blackberry), Prolexic (Akamai), DocuSign (IPO), Forescout (IPO), AlienVault (AT&T), Venafi, Vectra Networks, Gigya (SAP), and BrightEdge among many others.

Prior to Intel Capital, Ken was a founding general partner at Opus Capital. While at Opus, he served on the boards of Spock Networks (Intelius), Transpond (Webtrends), Supersecret (Knowledge Adventure), Alert Enterprise, Jivox, and TrustedID (Equifax). Previously, Ken was a Senior Associate at both Lightspeed Venture Partners and Battery Ventures. Before business school, Ken worked at Radius, Claris Corporation (the software subsidiary of Apple), and RealNetworks, where he held various sales, marketing, finance, and business development positions.

Ken received an MBA from Harvard Business School and holds a Bachelor of Science in economics from the Wharton School of Business. He is a Kauffman Fellow.


Managing Director
ClearSky Security

Jay Leek is a Managing Director for ClearSky Security, a VC fund focused solely on security investing and is also currently consulting with Blackstone around their portfolio company CISO community and other areas related to information security. He is also the lead investor in CloudKnox Security. Jay is the former CISO for Blackstone, where he also worked with their information security investments. Prior to joining Blackstone in 2012, he established, built and headed up global information risk and security programs for Equifax and Nokia. Throughout the past 19 years, Jay has also worked as a product manager for information security vendors as well as a consultant to numerous telecom companies, government agencies, and financial institutions, assisting them with business development, strategic planning and architectural design required to meet their information risk and security objectives.

Jay holds a B.S. from Capella University in information assurance and security, and is a Certified Information Security Manager, Certified Information Systems Security Professional and Certified Information Systems Auditor. He currently serves as a member of the boards of directors for Demisto, CyberGRX, IntSights, ProtectWise, RedOwl, Verodin and the NY Metro ISSA Chapter and is a board observer of Cylance.


Home Depot

Since January 2019, Stephen has been the Chief Information Security Officer at The Home Depot, the world’s largest home improvement retailer, where he provides progressive direction over cybersecurity and technology risk. Prior to joining The Home Depot, he was the Chief Information Security Officer at TIAA, a Fortune 80 financial institution. His innovative approach to cybersecurity has led to a patent-pending technology related to malware analysis.

Stephen has over 20 years of experience in physical security, personal protection, fraud, cybersecurity and technology risk acquired throughout his career in both the private sector and the United States. Secret Service. At JPMorgan Chase & Co., he was active in multiple aspects of overseeing incident response, cyber intelligence, fraud investigations and risk. As an agent with the Secret Service, the breadth of his experience included physical protection, fraud and cybersecurity.


Co-Founder & CTO

As CTO of MobileIron, Suresh is responsible for anticipating what customers will need in the future and leading MobileIron’s research division. Suresh is also a board member at CloudKnox Security. Before MobileIron, Suresh was Engineering Portfolio Leader for application switching and security at Nortel Enterprise Data Networks. During that time, his team shipped more than 60,000 application switches and accelerators and thousands of firewalls. He built three offshore engineering teams from scratch and established expertise in virtualization and highly scalable systems. Prior to Nortel, Suresh was Engineering Manager at Alteon Websystems, an innovator in internet infrastructure that was acquired by Nortel in 2000. His first startup was HolonTech Corporation. Suresh has an MS in Computer Science from the University of South Florida.

Former Exec. Chairman

Art Coviello is currently a venture partner at Rally Ventures, a leading investor in early-stage business technology companies. Prior to joining Rally, he retired as Executive Chairman of RSA Security, the security division of EMC. Art joined RSA Security in 1995 and became CEO of the company in 2000. During his tenure, he was the driving force in RSA’s rapid growth, increasing annual revenue from $25 million to over $1 billion. As an industry thought leader, Art is a regular speaker at conferences and forums, and frequently provides counsel to enterprises and government agencies combating emerging threats.


Independent Consultant

Carl is currently an independent consultant and technical advisor, working closely with founders and engineering teams at startups, and collaborating on research and development projects with larger companies. His research interests include resource management, virtualization, caching, computer architecture, and security. Carl is active in the research community, and has served as program chair for USENIX ATC, FAST, and VEE. He is also an inventor with more than a hundred issued patents.

Carl was a Principal Engineer at VMware from 2000-2011, where he led the design and implementation of processor scheduling and memory management for the ESX hypervisor and was the architect for VMware's Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS). Prior to VMware, he was a researcher at the DEC Systems Research Center. Carl holds a Ph.D. in computer science from MIT, for which he received the ACM Doctoral Dissertation Award.
